Our children have the opportunity to take part in a huge range of
extra-curricular activities. These vary according to season but
include Football, Hockey, Netball, Art and Drama. In addition, we
offer an extensive range of additional clubs, through privately
run organisations such as Irish Dancing, Coding Club, Lego and Ju-
Jitsu. We have also benefitted from relationships with local sports teams, Carrickfergus Rugby Club and Carrickfergus Cricket Club who have provided coaching sessions for our Year 7 children in PE. 

Our sports teams regularly represent the school in local
tournaments and competitions. Our sports teams have enjoyed lots of recent success, with our football team winning the U11 Carrickfergus league for the past two seasons and our netball team reaching the Northern Ireland finals having won the East Antrim division. We have a proud tradition of excellent swimmers at Whitehead Primary and have held the swimming gala trophy for the past 4 years. 

Our choir and musicians take part during school productions and our annual Carol Service. Our Year 6 & 7 pupils get the opportunity to take part in a school production. Last year we performed Matilda The Musical.
