WHO ARE THE PTA?

Believe it or not, all parents and staff of the school are automatically considered to be members of PTA! It involves all of us working together for the benefit of our children. There is a committee who co-ordinate and organise the activities & events however, the PTA only works because of the input and support from all the parents and staff connected with school.

WHAT DO PTA DO?

PTA organise events and activities which provide either fund-raising or social and entertainment opportunities throughout the school year. Over the course of the school year we have events for the children, such as discos and movie nights in school, we are also on hand to look after the parents and visitors with refreshments at events such as open night and sports day.

WHY DO WE HAVE PTA?

PTA has two key purposes. Firstly we have a fund-raising role, raising funds for school to allocate to the benefit of all the children. In the past PTA have raised money towards such things as a reading book scheme, adding to the IT capacity of the school with iPads and most recently, purchasing new desks and chairs for all our classrooms. Secondly and every bit as importantly, PTA is about the social life and entertainment value our events and activities can bring to the children and school as a whole. The enjoyment that the children in particular get from what we do is as valuable as the funds raised from it.

HOW AND WHERE WILL YOU FIND PTA

We have monthly committee meeting in school to organise the upcoming events, details of times are included in the school monthly newsletter. These meetings are in part used to plan the events which have become a regular part of the school calendar (discos for example) and also to discuss new ideas put forward not only be those on the committee but that have been put forward by anyone interested in supporting the work of PTA.
